Top 10 players to watch at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Lausanne Masters 2023

LAUSANNE (Switzerland) - The FIBA 3x3 World Tour returns to a favorite location on August 18-19 - the Olympic capital!

Ahead of the annual Lausanne Masters, let's get amped up by finding 10 players you just have to watch.

Strahinja Stojacic (Ub Huishan NE)

As per usual, the No.1 ranked player in the world takes top billing. You might know him as 'Doctor Strange', but his name is Strahinja Stojacic - the dude who has won three Masters MVPs this season. 

His World Tour stats are mind-blowing -  6.9 ppg, shooting efficiency 0.71, 13 dunks - but most of all he has played all 30 games. This dude is an absolute machine!

And get ready because he finally had a well-earned breather after missing Ub's victory at the Belgrade Challenger. A refreshed 'Doctor Strange' will be out to repeat his MVP heroics from last year as he attempts to again make Lausanne his 3x3 multiverse. 

 

Vic van Oosterwyck (Antwerp TOPdesk)

The strongly-built 23-year-old has been a breakout star on the pro circuit and starred in Antwerp's win at the Ulaanbaatar Challenger. 

He will make his World Tour debut and might bring a storm to Lausanne because this Belgian is lights out from deep.

The 6ft. 2in (1.88m) sniper connects on an insane 41% from 2, so defenders will be crazy to leave him open. 

Modestas Kumpys (Raudondvaris Hoptrans)

Get ready because this dunk machine is about to activate 'Flight Mode'. 

The 6ft. 4in (1.94m) high-flyer has already made memes out of defenders this season. Kumpys has had 14 dunks in 26 pro circuit games this season - so don't blink because you just might miss him putting a defender into a body bag!

His energetic game helps pump up the lethal Lithuanians, who are hoping to get past the quarters for the first time this World Tour season. 

 

Stefan Kojic (Liman Huishan NE)

This bucket getter has been doing his thing for years, but might be hotter than ever before. 

Kojic arrives in Lausanne having dropped a jaw-dropping 51 points in Belgrade to lead Liman within an inch of knocking off Ub in a crazy final.

The 31-year-old had a staggering player-value of 53.8 and hit two-piece buzzer beaters in the quarters and semis. 

No one has scored more points than Kojic on the pro circuit - at an incredible average of 8.2 ppg - and he's ready to take that form to the World Tour, where Liman will want to go one better than their runners-up finish in Macau. 

 

Dulguun Enkhbat (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy)

He'll roll into Lausanne with his perfect hair naturally in place, but don't be deceived by his smooth looks. 

Because Dulguun Enkhbat knows how to get his hands dirty on the half-court and there aren't many better lockdown defenders on the planet. 

But the 31-year-old can also be a force offensively as he showed in his only World Tour 2023 event in Edmonton - where he made the game winning drive against eventual finalists San Juan on Day One. 

Jimmer Fredette (Miami)

The hype is in overdrive every time Jimmer Fredette steps onto the half-court with his legion of fans tracking his every move. 

Newcomers Miami have not quite cracked the code at the pro level, but they are getting closer.

Fredette might be able to get them over the hump because the former NBA player and collegiate star has been lights out all season.

He's averaging 7 ppg on the pro circuit and 38% from 2, but you feel 'Jimmer Mania' is only just getting started.

 

Westher Molteni (Lausanne)

'King West' is back on his home turf and that means trouble for opponents. 

The legendary Swiss baller still brings it and nothing inspires him more than the passionate fans in Lausanne, who lift the hometown heroes to great heights every year.

He can do it all on the half-court, but perhaps no one can make an art form out of rebounding more than Molteni, who'll be out to prove he's King of Lausanne once again. 

 

Henry Caruso (Princeton)

Newcomer Henry Caruso has had big shoes to fill in flying the flag for iconic American team Princeton.

But he's showed no fear and made the half-court his personal playground with a breakout season on the pro circuit, highlighted by leading Princeton to the title at the Baoding Challenger.

He was dynamic in his World Tour debut in Edmonton with 25 points to lead Princeton to the semis.

But the insanely skilful Henry Caruso will have his sights on breaking a four-year World Tour  drought for American teams.   

 

Antoine Eito (Versailles)

Netflix might make a documentary on this 3x3 serial killer, who was on fire in Belgrade with 35 points to lead Versailles to the semis. 

Eito's averaging almost 7 ppg on the pro circuit, but the World Cup 2022 bronze medalist is ready to take his talents to the World Tour. 

If he continues his purple patch then Versailles might just be a dark horse contender in Lausanne. 

 

Netanel Artzi (Tel-Aviv)

Tel-Aviv's chances of going on a giant-killing run hinge on big man Netanel Artzi, who is a  wrecking ball in the one-hoop game.

The full force of his ability to play above the rim has been on show on the pro circuit and at international level.

But Artzi has a dangerous inside-outside game and can light it up from deep if he's feeling it.  

We can't wait to see the 26-year-old make his World Tour season debut as he aims to lead Tel-Aviv out of qualification and beyond.
