Unstoppable Ub Huishan NE face showdown with Riga at FIBA 3x3 Prague Masters 2023

PRAGUE (Czech Republic) - Unbeatable Ub Huishan NE (SRB) will face a rematch with rival Riga (LAT) in their quest to continue a remarkable FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 season at the 10th edition of the Prague Masters on August 5-6.

The No.1 seeds made it 5 from 5 titles on the World Tour when they swept through the field at the first-ever Edmonton Masters. 

Ub will again tweak their line-up with muscular Nemanja Barac replacing Marko Brankovic.

The Serbs will be led by top-ranked player Strahinja Stojacic, who has won three MVPs on the World Tour this season.

They should feel confident in the Pool A blockbuster against Riga (LAT), whom Ub beat in the quarters at Edmonton. 

But Ub will need to find new strategies against Riga scoring machine Miroslav Pasajlic, who scored 14 of Riga's 17 points in a one-man  show. 

The third team will come from qualifying. 

 

No.2 seeds Vienna (AUT) will hope it's third time lucky this season as they headline Pool B. 

The Austrians have made the semis twice this World Tour season and will start their campaign against Liman Huishan NE (SRB) and Marijampole Mantinga (LTU).

Liman had to forfeit on Day One in Edmonton due to injury, but will be boosted by the return of former Masters MVP Stefan Kojic.

 

The showpiece game in Pool C will be between No.3 seeds Amsterdam HiPRO (NED) and in-form Partizan (SRB), who have won two titles on the pro circuit. 

We just can't wait to see what new kids on the block Stefan Torbica and Stefan Milivojevic have in store. 

They'll need to battle superstar Worthy de Jong and his sidekicks as Amsterdam aim to bounce back after a quarter-final exit in Edmonton. 

Pool C is surely the 'Group of Death' because Jeddah (KSA) are capable of a deep run as they showed with a semi-final finish at the Marseille Masters. 

Prized recruit Malik Hluchoweckyj is ready to put on a show and he'll be out to show improved chemistry with his teammates.

Jeddah will be aiming for revenge having fallen short to Amsterdam in the semis in Marseille.

 

We're not finished with the blockbusters just yet, because Pool D has a monster game between powers Antwerp TOPdesk (BEL) and Beijing (CHN).

They've combined for four titles on the pro circuit, but are desperate for a W on the World Tour. 

We're pumped to see defensive menace Dennis Donkor attempt to lock down superhero Karlis Lasmanis, who is averaging a crazy 7.5 ppg in his debut season with Beijing. 

 

Ostrava Victoria (CZE) round out Pool D and will be out to shock the world. 

Paris (FRA), Fribourg (SUI) and Tel-Aviv (ISR) are part of a competitive qualifying draw.
