Players to watch at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2023

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) - The best players in the business are hoping to finish the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2023 with a bang and they are raring to go at the Jeddah Final on December 8-9. 

Strahinja Stojacic (Ub Huishan NE)

We just have to start with the man who has been No.1 all season long. You know who I'm talking about. It's Strahinja Stojacic who has put together maybe the most complete season in World Tour history. 

Just take a look at the stats and you'll see it's 'Doctor Strange's' multiverse, but the Ub star is itching for his fourth MVP of the season.

The Serbs have gone cold, but not Stojacic who has maintained his high standards and you just know he'll do everything he can to hold onto his crown. 

 

Jimmer Fredette (Miami)

Who can seize Stojacic's crown to end 2023? There's probably one main contender and that's Jimmer Fredette who has had maybe the most amazing World Tour debut in history. 

The former NBA player and college phenom has enjoyed the spotlight with all eyes on him every time he steps on the half-court. He has somehow exceeded the hype having collected two Masters MVPs and connecting on almost every second two-point shot he attempts. 

Whatever happens you just know he will be Jimmer Buckets in Jeddah. 

 

Quincy Diggs (Vienna)

This consistent baller got his deserved recognition when he claimed the MVP in Amsterdam after leading Vienna to their first Masters title in 2023. 

He was the main reason for Vienna's hot late season run, but he's not interested in dominating the box score. The American only cares about the dub and making his teammates better. 

With that selfless attitude it's little wonder Vienna are a chance to go all the way on the biggest stage of them all. 

 

Worthy de Jong (Amsterdam HiPRO)

The greatest individual scoring season in World Tour history? Check. A Masters MVP? Check. Masters title? Check. The crown of best 3x3 player alive? Let's find out. 

It's not just Fredette battling Stojacic for the status as the game's best player. We just can't ignore de Jong, who on top of pulling up insane numbers has now success to boot after Amsterdam's drought breaking triumph in Hong Kong. 

If he leads Amsterdam to their first-ever World Tour Final then de Jong has claims to sitting on 3x3's throne. 

 

Stefan Milivojevic (Partizan Mozzart)

Jeddah's temperature might soar if this sizzling Serb brings the heat. He's another newcomer who has quickly made a rise with Milivojevic winning MVP in Partizan's memorable victory in Manama. 

This dude has claims to being the most clutch player in the game after delivering numerous epic buzzer beaters. He might once again make the half-court frozen after his ice-cool performances in the clutch. 

The dude known as 'Gladiator' is looking to flat-out dominate Jeddah. 

 

Nauris Miezis (Beijing)

No one enjoys the big stage more than this legendary Latvian. After all, he's an Olympic gold medalist. And Miezis has hit one of the greatest shots in World Tour Final history after his game-winner to lead his former team Riga to glory in the Jeddah Final 2020. 

He might wear different colors these days, but Miezis aka 'Robin' still has his superpowers and you just know he's going to do something special in Jeddah.

 

Dulguun Enkhbat (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy)

This Mongolian always brings energy and intensity on the half-court. So it's no surprise that he's become a hero in his 3x3-obsessed country and his legend has grown stronger after a year for the ages. 

Enkhbat's 2023 started by helping Mongolia win the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore and he was also part of Ulaanbaatar's historic triumph in Shanghai.  

He will never forget 2023, but it's not done yet because Enkhbat will be unleashing his famous lockdown D in an effort to provide his compatriots with even more reason to celebrate. 

 

 Carlos Martinez (Lausanne Sport LS)

The Swiss team were once a riddle, but they've become a formidable force late in the season to win a spot in the main draw of the Jeddah Final. 

A lot of their success owes to the dominance of this big fella, who has averaged 6.6 ppg on the World Tour this season. Martinez is an inside-outside presence that makes him unguardable as opponents will find out in Jeddah. 

 

Franck Seguela (Paris)

There had been some critics of this Frenchman believing he wasn't quite able to bring it on the pressure cooker of the World Tour. But they look rather foolish now with Seguela having won a MVP in Wuxi after leading Paris to a historic triumph. 

His numbers were once modest on the World Tour, but they are spectacular reading now. He averages a crazy 7.5 ppg for the season with only four other players having better numbers for those who have played more than 10 games. 

Seguela can lift that average even higher if he goes off in Jeddah.

 

Luis Cuascut (San Juan)

No one is safe going in for an open basket against San Juan because athletic marvel Luis Cuascut might just fly to the sky and produce an emphatic block. 

It's just not fair because this big fella can also throw down slams like it's a dunk contest. If he makes Jeddah his personal playground then San Juan can absolutely defy the odds and win the title all the way from the play-in.
