How to qualify for FIBA 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Final 2023

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) - It's the final countdown of what has been the biggest and best FIBA 3x3 World Tour in history.

And the showpiece Jeddah Final is around the corner with this weekend's Hong Kong Masters to conclude the regular season.

And for this season's showpiece finale, there is some added spice with 14 teams to journey to Jeddah.  The top 11 teams in the ranking will have a guaranteed spot in the main draw, while three teams will compete in a play-in implemented for the first time.

The play-in will feature the 12th team in the World Tour standings, the hosts and the team with the most wins across the pro circuit (Challengers and World Tour)  that hasn’t already qualified.

To save you from asking AI for help, let's break it down on what's needed to qualify for the final spot.

The top 11 have qualified

The top 11 teams on the standings are through. They are Ub Huishan NE, Vienna, Amsterdam HiPRO, Antwerp TOPdesk, Liman Huishan NE, Miami, Partizan, Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy, Beijing,  Raudondvaris Hoptrans and Lausanne Sport LS

Paris is set for the play-in

Paris will be in Jeddah as a play-in team either by finishing 12th or as the team with the most wins on the pro circuit.

The Wuxi champs are currently 55 points behind 12th placed San Juan. If they finish fourth or higher then Paris will finish 12th on the standings and the team with the most wins on the pro circuit that qualifies could be Futian or Hangzhou (If they win more than 2 games)

Teams who can still qualify

San Juan (268 pts)
Hangzhou (205 pts)
Princeton (178 pts)

It will be a nervous wait for San Juan, who are holding on for dear life at 12th on the standings. It's not just Paris they will be watching closely, but also Hangzhou and Princeton.

Constanta Masters champs Hangzhou can leapfrog San Juan if they finish third, but they would need Paris to not make the final.

Princeton are a longshot, but can pass San Juan with victory in Hong Kong but they would also need Hangzhou and Paris to finish third or under.
