Legendary NY Harlem look to put on show at FIBA 3x3 Colorado Challenger 2023

COLORADO (USA) - Legendary American team NY Harlem (USA) are ready to dazzle as the pro circuit journeys to hoops power USA for the FIBA 3x3 Colorado Challenger 2023 on October 7-8.

The New Yorkers are part of a strong 14-team field and there are also three tickets available for the Abu Dhabi Masters, which is the 14th stop on this season's FIBA 3x3 World Tour.

Let's preview all the action.

The Favorites

Since we're back in the U-S-A, let's start with one of their greatest ever teams who also might just be the GOAT entertainers - NY Harlem.

Real ones know him as 'Disco Domo', but his full name is Dominique Jones and he's going to put on his dancing shoes in front of the American fans.

NY Harlem will face a tough early battle against Toronto KBA (CAN) led by speedster Alex Johnson, who can get to the rim faster than you can spell KBA.

The physical beasts Agnis Cavars and Edgars Krumins will be out in force for top seeds Riga, who unusually for their high standards are in a long title drought.

Lausanne Sport LS (SUI) are still basking in their first-ever title having clinched the FIBA 3x3 Sansar Challenger not long ago. With walking bucket Carlos Martinez entering red-hot, the Swiss Masters will be confident of adding another title.

And we've taken way too long to get to young guns San Juan (PUR), who are closing in on a first title having finished second in the last three events they've played.

You just know sniper Antonio Ralat will hit a buzzer beater or two because this dude is a cold blooded assassin.

The Field

There could be some surprising results in this famous hoops destination, where USA Basketball is based.

You better learn how to pronounce this dude's name correctly because Malik Hluchoweckyj is the real deal and can inspire Jeddah (KSA) to great heights.

Omaha (USA) will be hoping the support of their compatriots can fuel a giant-killing run and their chances look good because diminutive Trey Bardsley can make taller opponents look rather silly on the half-court.

There are five other American teams in the draw and we can't just can't wait to see them perform.

Pool A: Riga (LAT), Kaunas VDU (LTU), Calabasas (USA)
Pool B: Lausanne Sport LS (SUI), Omaha, Qualifier
Pool C: San Juan (PUR), Jeddah (KSA), Spokane WCH (USA)
Pool D: NY Harlem (USA), Toronto KBA (CAN), Bucharest Stiinta (ROU)
