Vienna win their first FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters in Paris

PARIS (France) - Vienna (AUT) became the first-ever Austrian team to win a FIBA 3x3 World Tour event on the maiden edition of the Paris Masters on October 7-8, 2022.

In the iconic settings of the 'Carreau du Temple' in the center of Paris, Vienna won all 5 games before the 10-minute limit. They defeated the first 2 teams in the world in the knock-out rounds and finished things off with a  21-13 success over Utrecht (NED), who were also competing in a title game for the first time on the World Tour.

Former number one player in the world Stefan Stojacic was named event MVP after leading the scoring charts in Paris with 50 points in 5 games. It was the first time a player reached 50 points on the World Tour in 6 years and ranks as the third best scoring explosion in World Tour history.

The man known as 'Mister Robot' scored a game-high 9 points in the final. His teammate Quincy Diggs added 8. Utrecht star Worthy de Jong contributed 8 points in the losing effort and was a statistical freak in Paris as the World Tour was stopping in France for the first time. He recorded a triple-five (at least 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 highlights) in each one of his first 3 games and ranked number one in player value on the weekend.

In the individual contests, the number one 3x3 player in the world Strahinja Stojacic took home the Maurice Lacroix Shoot-out Contest, while Polish dunk legend Rafal 'Lipek' Lipinski won the Wilson Dunk Contest.
