Riga impress on Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 World Tour Montreal Masters

MONTREAL (Canada) - FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2020 winners Riga (LAT) finished the pool stage undefeated at the Montreal Masters on September 3, 2022.

THE TEAM

Gotham is safe again! A reunited Riga brought back the same roster (including "Batman and Robin") that won the first-ever gold medals in 3x3 at the Olympics last year in Tokyo. 

Karlis Lasmanis came back with a bang and led Riga (LAT) to the win (21-15) in the first game of pool play against Lublin Lotto (POL) with  8 points. He then added 9 in Riga's revenge win (21-14) against Omaha 3Ball (USA) to top their pool en route to a quarter-final clash with Princeton (USA).

THE PLAYER

Marko Savic! The 4-time 3x3 World Tour winner guided Beijing (CHN) to the quarter-finals of the 3x3 World Tour Montreal Masters on top of Pool C with 2 wins over Princeton in OT (19-18) and Chicago (22-15)

The "Serbian surgeon" scored 10 points and had 7 key assists (2nd highest today) 

THE MOMENT

Tray Lansman qualified Omaha 3Ball to the next round and eliminated Lublin Lotto on a Maurice Lacroix buzzer beater when the game was tied 20-20.

Nauris Miezis (Riga - LAT) was the player to watch with 13 highlights, including 8 key assists.
