Bulut named FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2018 regular season MVP

BEIJING (FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2018) - Dusan Bulut (Novi Sad Al Wahda, SRB) was elected FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2018 regular season MVP in Beijing, China on Saturday October 27, 2018.

For the first time this year, the fans, the media and the players were allowed to vote and the outcome was a nail-biter.

The number one 3x3 player in the world received 43.7% of the votes coming from the fans and the media while Liman Tesla Voda (SRB) star got 42.3%.

The 2 players were tied in the player vote with 31% each.

Riga Ghetto (LAT) star Karlis Lasmanis finished a distant 3rd in the MVP race.

This marks Dusan Bulut's 7th MVP award this season: he had 3 more at the World Tour (Saskatoon, Prague and Debrecen Masters) and another 3 in national team competitions (World Cup, Europe Cup, Europe Cup Romania Qualifier).

FIBA vice-president Hamane Niang presented him with the award before his first game at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Bloomage Beijing Final.

The 33-year-old finished 2nd overall in scoring on the World Tour season and topped all players in both two-pointers (42%) and free throw percentages (86%).*

The top 5 players in the scoring list for the season (Stefan Stojacic, Dusan Bulut, Mihailo Vasic, Aleksandar Ratkov and Karlis Lasmanis) and all the other players who have won an MVP award this season (3: Jasmin Hercegovac, Tamas Ivosev and Dejan Majstorovic)
