Novi Sad Al Wahda stay perfect on Day 1 at FIBA 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters

PRAGUE (FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE) had a clean 2-0 record on Day 1 at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters on August 5 2017.

Just one week after their success at the Utsunomiya Masters, the number one 3x3 team in the world stretched their winning streak at the World Tour to 7 straight.

Dusan Bulut led his team in scoring in both games, a 21-16 win against Zagreb (CRO) and a scrappy 22-12 defeat of local favorites Humpolec (CZE).

Saskatoon (CAN) in Pool C and Zemun Master (SRB) in Pool D also remained undefeated.

The athletic Nolan Brudehl paced last year's Prague Masters finalists with 14 points while Michael Lieffers provided more highlights than the Stranger Things trailer in back-to-back wins against Belgrade (SRB) and Kolobrzeg (POL).

Zemun cannot do that to their fans. After a solid win against Athens (GRE), the number five 3x3 team in the world ruined a 3-point lead against Krakow R8 Basket (POL) in the last seconds of the game, which Michael 'Money in the Bank' Hicks sent to overtime. However the Dragon Bogdan Dragovic had more fire than Arcade Fire and sank the game-winner from behind the arc.

In Pool B, Ljubljana made the perfect remake of last year's Prague Masters as they once again faced elimination on Day 1. The reigning World Tour champs were stunned by Ostrava (CZE) in their opener and still managed to top the pool for 1 point scored after defeating a Vitez (BIH) team, that had surprised Ostrava.

Just one day after the tragic loss of his mother, Krakow star Hicks stepped back on the court and led all scorers with an outrageous 26 points in 2 games. 2016 Prague Masters top scorer Zeljko Palavra (Vitez) and Jan Stehlik (Ostrava) were second in the scoring charts with 19 points apiece.

In the Streetsportline Shoot-out Contest Qualifier, Palavra, Ales Kunc (Ljubljana), Dejan Majstorovic (Novi Sad Al Wahda) and Steve Sir (Saskatoon) secured their ticket for the final, which will be staged on August 6 at 5.15pm local time (GMT+2).

Saskatoon (CAN, 3) vs. Vitez (BIH, 7)
