First glimpse of Abu Dhabi for 3x3 World Tour reigning champs Novi Sad

ABU DHABI (3x3) - 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Tour winners Team Novi Sad won the first stage of the Abu Dhabi 3x3 Basketball Tour on 12-13 March. The team featuring the number one player in FIBA's 3x3 individual world ranking, Dejan Majstorovic, will now fight to return to Abu Dhabi in just seven months' time, when the United Arab Emirates (UAE) city hosts the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final.

Majstorovic and his usual three team-mates, the spectacular Dusan Domovic Bulut, the versatile Marko Savic and defensive specialist Marko Zdero were undefeated in Abu Dhabi and dominated Team Bone Collectors 21-14 in the final.

The inaugural event of the Abu Dhabi 3x3 Basketball Tour featured an impressive 90 teams - a record for a 3x3 event hosted in the UAE - including men, women and youth categories as well as another 3x3 star with reigning 3x3 European Champion Angel Santana from Romania.

The Abu Dhabi 3x3 Basketball Tour is organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council together with its partners, the UAE Basketball Association, Extra International Sport and Sport Arena.

The Tour continues in Al Gharbia on 18-19 March and consists of four events and a final that will take place in Abu Dhabi on 7-8 May.

The Abu Dhabi 3x3 Basketball Tour will be one of two FIBA 3x3 World Tour qualifiers organised in Abu Dhabi this season, with an international challenger being held on 15 May. The Tour will qualify a team to the Beijing Masters while the invitational Challenger will lead to the Manila Masters.

Abu Dhabi will be one the capitals of 3x3 this season with the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final taking place in the UAE city at the Corniche overlooking the city skyline on 15-16 October.
