Bulut recaptures world number one spot

NOVI SAD (2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - The 29-year-old Dusan Domovic Bulut is back on top of the FIBA 3x3 Individual World Ranking after the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Beijing Masters.

It is the third time "Mr Bullutproof" is on top of the world ranking after a first stint from June to December 2014 and a second one from June to 3 August 2015. Both times he had slipped to number 2 in the world behind team-mate Dejan Majstorovic.

The Serbian ace led his team Novi Sad Al Wahda to a pair of resounding wins last year at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final and the FIBA 3x3 All Stars. He followed up in style in 2015, with a success at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters, before two bittersweet outings in Prague (6th) and Beijing (3rd).

Players earn ranking points at FIBA 3x3 events based on the results of their team and their individual scoring performance, in the last 12 months. Interestingly, former number 1 'The Maestro' Majstorovic scored more than Bulut in Beijing (by one point)  but lost some precious ranking points, which he had earned at a Serbian event a year ago.

Bulut's narrow 7,200-point-lead over Majstorovic is mainly due to "Mr Bullutproof"'s masterpiece performance at the FIBA 3x3 All Stars in Doha last year where he scored 36 points in just 4 games.

Considering Novi Sad Al Wahda is still looking to qualify for the Rio de Janeiro Masters and is guaranteed to play at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi on 15-16 October, the friendly battle between the two team-mates will continue to make the headlines for the rest of the year.
